Women want toned slim legs. I think that I can say that is a true statement for 99.99% of women. Even if our legs already look great we always want to try and get better. So with all the exercises and myths out what are the best ways to get the perfect pair of legs?
1. Do not be choosey with fat. Unfortunately you can not pick where you want fat to disappear from. It is impossible to say you want to lose weight just in the thighs and keep the rest of your body the same. When you lose weight your body will decide. So keep in mind that when you are getting your legs into shape not only do you need to do exercises designed for the legs but it will be highly beneficial to do workouts that challenge the other major muscle groups in the body.
2. Good bye to machines. While the squat machine and the other leg machines are better then nothing, they are not going to provide the most obvious results for getting the most beautiful legs. These machines are called single joint exercises and target only specific muscles. To get the most out of a workout do exercises that utilize not only the large muscle but also assisting muscle groups and possibly even other parts of the body. These are referred to as multi-joint exercises and examples include: squats, lunges (while doing bicep curls), power jumps, power squats, etc.
3. Choose cardio wisely. Cardio is an important part of a workout but make sure you do the cardio accordingly. If you are wanted to gain some leg definition A.K.A. muscle keep cardio workouts to a minimal. Do not exceed 25 minutes because after this your body will start to break down the hard earned muscle. Also stick to routines that are going to really use your leg muscles. One great form is the stair stepper. Or try doing interval training on inclines.
4. Eat all the right things. With any type of fitness, exercise and nutrition go hand in hand. If you are serious about looking great it is vital to eat a balanced healthy diet high in protein and whole-wheat carbs, but low in fats and sugars. Say good-bye to cokes and processed sugars. I would even suggest taking out diet sodas or at least minimizing them. Stick to water. No only will you feel hydrated but your energy will sore and you will also feel fuller longer. YAY.
5. Do not let a little rain or clouds keep you from the gym. The gym should be as much a priority as your business meeting. Schedule a time on your calender when you know it is time to hit the weights. Getting a great body takes work and work means hitting the gym on a regular basis. It does not matter the time of day for maximal benefits, it only matters that you go. Keep your gym shoes by the front door or lay out your workout clothes the day before so you know you should go.
Dying to wear that little skirt for New Years or the little black dress for the company Christmas party? Women wanting toned legs only have to take the leap to get serious. With the workouts do 3 sets of 10-13 reps per exercise. And use a weight that makes you feel a little burn. This is your workout and women should never be afraid to push themselves!

MIDI Makes It Easier!
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Music is something we all love and enjoy. It helps us relax and take life easy when we aren’t working. The Musical Instrument Digital Interface or MIDI for short, helps musicians input their work into computers and process it.
MIDI compatible instruments send out binary codes that a computer can understand. All notes that a musical instrument is capable of playing are assigned specific MIDI messages according to what the note and octave are. For example, the Middle C note played on any MIDI compatible musical instrument will always transmit the same MIDI message from its ‘MIDI Out’ port. What code will be transmitted when a note is played is defined in the MIDI specification. This comprises the core of the MIDI standard that all instrument makers like Casio and Yamaha follow.
Since All MIDI instruments follow the MIDI specification and thus transmit identical MIDI messages for identical MIDI events such as the playing of a certain note on the musical instrument, all MIDI instruments can communicate with and understand each other, as well as with computers which have been programmed to understand MIDI messages using MIDI-aware software. The MIDI interface, converts the current fluctuations transmitted by a MIDI musical instrument, into binary numbers that the receiving musical instrument or computer can process.
All MIDI enabled instruments have a built-in MIDI interface. In addition, computer sound cards usually have this built-in interface – if not, it can be separately purchased as a card and easily installed.
So what does this MIDI standard contain? The MIDI standard consists of a communications messaging protocol designed for use with musical instruments, as well as a physical interface standard.
The Physical interface consists of a one-way (simplex) digital
current loop serial communications signaling at 31,250 bits per second.
The advantage of MIDI is that it is low bandwidth consuming and hence is good for networks and Internet. Today, MIDI has become the choice for mobile phone service providers to offer their consumers the latest ring tones. Music lovers can also enjoy their productions and edit them directly with MIDI software allowing them to have complete control on their work.
That is not all! This wonderful standard of communication can also be used for show control, theatre lighting, special effects, sound design, recording system synchronization, audio processor control and computer networking. Any device built with a MIDI out port can in theory control a device with a MIDI in port. This can only happen if the maker of both the devices has made provisions for the agreements between the 2.
In conclusion, the MIDI standard of communication has changed a lot of things. The MIDI messages are light weight packages that can be stored and processed with a minimum of fuss and power. This makes MIDI an invaluable format for musicians, game designers and network workers. MIDI is also excellent for show control helping in presentations and other corporate environmental work.
9 Steps to Unique Articles
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
1 Remove your limits
Reduce your subject to a single core word and then brainstorm around it. For example, if you’re trying to write about “Study Skills”, expand your thinking to “School”. Now jot down everything that comes to mind when you think about School, and when you run out of ideas start asking yourself open questions around the subject and noting your answers.
Examples:
What did I enjoy about school?
What scared me?
What did I wish I’d known from Day 1?
This will help you get back into the mindset of someone struggling with school issues of all kinds and you’ll start to get a feel for their concerns and worries.
2 Restore your focus
Once you’ve started to understand the general feelings of your readers, allow your mind to focus back on your original topic of Study Skills. From your new perspective, what questions would you ask? What would you want to know? Is this really a “Studying” issue or is it more about Time Management or being able to work without distractions or being paralyzed by the fear of not doing well?
3 Be your audience
Write each question on a separate sheet of paper; don’t stop until you have at least ten and preferably more. Stay in the mindset of your readers until you feel you’ve asked every major question that concerns them.
4 Take a step back
Put your pile of question aside for a few hours, overnight if possible. Don’t consciously think about them; just go about your day as usual. Give your subconscious time to process them without any further prompting from you. If new questions come to mind jot them down somewhere safe and then forget about them.
5 Get out your pen and write
When you’re ready, sit down with your pages of questions and simply start to answer them. Writing your answers by hand can give you access to ideas that might be missed if you type them. Don’t edit yourself at this stage. Using Speech to Text software or a digital recorder can also be helpful in bypassing the internal editor.
Imagine someone sitting in front of you asking for advice and just talk to them. Keep your tone natural and conversational and stay with the question-and-answer format.
6 Edit lightly
Trust your first instincts. Proof-read and correct any obvious errors, but don’t do any major editing until your piece has had time to “sit” for a while. Again, leaving it overnight will give you a fresh perspective the next time you look at it, but even if your deadline doesn’t allow for that it’s important to give yourself a break from it.
When you’re pushed for time, writing several articles at one sitting can create enough change of focus to make you “forget” the one you’ve just written.
7 Polish it up
Short articles are unlikely to need major editing if you’ve written them as described here. They will flow easily and naturally already and having each Q & A on a separate sheet makes it easier to select only the ones you want. Your job now is to put them in a reasonably logical sequence and make sure they’re understandable and that the reader is led smoothly from one question and answer to the next.
8 Top and tail it
Write a brief introductory paragraph as a “teaser” for the main article. Many article directories now put the first paragraph of each piece into RSS feeds which are picked up by other websites, so you’ll want to make sure that your two or three major keywords appear at least once in that first paragraph.
Write another short paragraph to summarize the major points of the article and provide some ideas for the reader to explore the subject further. Don’t of course forget your own resource box: use the format SubmitYourNewArticle.com for your link, so when your article is converted to html your link will automatically be live.
9 Submit it!

Exercises For Seniors
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Walking at a brisk pace is simply the single best exercise you can perform. If you are fifty years of age or older, it should be your activity of choice. To reach your goal of optimal health, resolve today to begin a regular program of walking, at a pace which will provide an excellent cardiovascular workout.
Before beginning any exercise routine, especially after age fifty, you would be wise to consult your physician. If there is anything on your chart that would call for caution, your doctor will so advise you. I am sixty five years of age and I enjoy brisk walking for one hour each day. I am careful not to exceed my maximum heart rate which is 155 beats per minute.
The target heart rate for me, for the greatest benefit, is seventy to eighty five percent of the maximum heart rate. That would be anywhere between 109 and 132 beats per minute. I maintain a rate of 120 beats per minute throughout my walk. You might not be able to exercise every day and you do not need to. If you are walking for 30 minutes three times a week or every other day that will be sufficient as long as you are training at a pace which will raise your pulse to the target rate for aerobic conditioning. If your heart rate is higher than the target for your age, slow down.
Taking your pulse as you walk is easy. Wear a watch and midway through your walk, stop for a few seconds to check your heart rate. This can be done by gently touching your neck or left wrist. When you feel the pulse, count the number of beats for a period of 10 seconds. Now multiply that by six. If for example you are 55 years of age and counted 22 heart beats in the 10 second time frame, your training heart rate is 132 beats per minute. That fits perfectly within the desirable range of seventy percent to eighty five percent of the maximum heart rate of 165 beats per minute.
Now you might be inclined to say you do not need to walk, you get enough exercise doing the household chores or walking to the car. Perhaps you play golf or go bowling. All of these activities are signs of life because while performing them, you are moving, but walking is different. Other exercises are good. Walking is great.
Here are just a few of the reasons for you to consider walking for health and well being. The degree of difficulty is low. You warm up and cool down by performing the exact same motion used during the walk, only you walk a little slower. It is a low intensity exercise with more time spent at a less strenuous level. You can do it alone or with friends. You can take your dog with you. During times of severe or inclement weather, you can move to an indoor track or mall.
Walking is basically an injury free activity, especially when compared to jogging. It is an excellent stress manager. No special skills are needed. No special equipment is required other than comfortable clothing and good walking shoes. Walking briskly provides an excellent cardiovascular workout. It develops muscle tone, endurance, strength and agility.
Walking out of doors amid pleasant surroundings gives you time and space to reflect. A good walk can lift you out of depressions, clear the mind, lift the spirit and even set the stage for problem solving later that day. You will lose fat, improve circulation, and expel waste matter through the lungs and skin. Increased intestinal motility results from the gentle swaying of the internal organs. Finally, walking fine tunes the metabolism, regulates the appetite, and increases your energy.
If you are between 50 and 100, a regular program of exercise can change your life and go a long way towards the prevention of diseases associated with aging. Why not get started this week? Speak to your doctor. Line up some comfortable clothing and break out those walking shoes. Aerobic walking is the best exercise, the best means, to eliminate or prevent sickness and suffering from your life, while extending your life expectancy.
Benefits of Free Website Templates
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
The best way to start a website on your own is to create the design using free web templates. You simply cannot ignore the multiple features and benefits free website templates offer, the most important being that they are free. Of course, there are many more advantages of free website templates. No wonder they are not all that easy to find.
The greatest benefit of free website templates is that they are also designed by the same talented designers that code custom sites. Therefore, you stand to gain not only on the cost factor, which is nothing, but also on the quality criterion since you get the same quality as the paid ones would offer.
The only snag is that there is a lot of repetition due to the fact that everyone can use the free website templates. But you really don’t have to worry about repetition anymore because new platforms are introduced that create many templates.
Once you find a good high quality website template the basics of the design are ready to go. Plus, you can actually add custom elements to anything you get so it doesn’t have to fit perfectly from the start. This will save you a lot of money but also, it will save you a lot of time and you won’t have to put as much effort into it. In the end, it’s always easier to change a site that already exists then to create one from the beginning.
Often people have a bias against anything that is free. They think that the quality will not be as good as the templates that you have to pay for. And, there is no denying the possibility that some templates may actually be of a low quality, but most of the free templates are as good as the paid ones.
The inside story is that some very talented designers often offer free templates for advertising their product. They offer a few of their designs in order to have their name or website show up on your site. This makes them popular and you get to save money in the bargain. All this goes to prove that the quality of free website templates is just as good as the custom site and it is free!
Some people also worry that free website templates are used too much by too many people and may even be used by your competition. As a webmaster you want to have a unique look on the Internet. Uniqueness is very important online, so having an identical design to many other people may not be something you would like. At the same time, you can customize a free website template to suit your needs.
Nonetheless, you will have to do some research to find a good template that works for your business and is of a good quality. Often the quality of free web site templates is quite different in different places. Therefore, the best bet is to customize your website. You will need a basic understanding of some coding languages even if you do not know how to code yourself. That is the only way you can be on top of any problems or glitches that may arise.

Choosing Educational Software For Children
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
In recent years, computers have become an integral part of everyday life. Now, more people own computers than ever before, and the numbers continue to rise. As a result, children are learning how to use computers in school at a much earlier age than ever before.
There is a wide array of educational software available for children of all ages. This provides you, the parent, with many options when choosing educational software for your children. Since many educational games have been shown to help children learn and improve their skills in many subjects, these games have become an important part of a child’s learning experience. But choosing the right educational software makes all the difference. For this reason, it is essential to take care when choosing computer software for your children.
The best educational software is designed by people who know how children think. By nature, children like to see, touch, and interact with a thing in order to learn about it. This same concept also applies to computer software. For this reason, interactive applications have become so prevalent. Among these, there are many different types of software applications. Some are actual simulations, while others are open-ended creativity tools. There are also a number of structured activities available for the computer such as puzzles, tutorials, and reference titles. They are made by the 700+ publishers that specialize in educational items.
Because there are so many options available to you, selecting those that will truly help your child to learn may seem like an overwhelming task. This, however, does not have to be the case. When choosing computer software for your child, there are a few factors you should consider.
First, make sure you choose software that your child will be able to operate. This is especially important if you have a small child, as he or she will probably only be able to use the mouse. Be sure the application you choose accommodates this, as your child’s attention span will probably not last very long, otherwise.
When choosing software, you should also take care to select programs and games that best fit the interests of your child. While it is wonderful to encourage the learning of new skills and acceptance of new ideas, your child is less likely to take part in something of which he or she has little or no interest. Introducing your child to newer concepts and skills more gradually, however, may peak their interest and help build character and skill.

The Brief History of Hypnosis
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
The record of hypnosis is as antiquated as the human lineage. Even the most primeval natives were aware of this marvelous psychological manifestation, and it was utilized in the spiritual celebrations of their charmers to produce panic and magnify faith in the supernatural and the occult. With this enduring saga of magic and mysticism, it is not unforeseen that the overall public opinion toward hypnosis has been and still is one of dislike, misapprehension and fear.
The preliminary scientific beginnings in the research of hypnosis began with Anton Mesmer in 1775, from whose name originates the idiom mesmerism which is still in present usage. Mesmer`s utilization of hypnosis opened with his detection that certain types of medical patients reacted to arm stroking and sleep suggestions. Mesmer accredited these sanative results to the `quality` of `animal magnetism`, and he invented a presumption that animal magnetism was some incomprehensible and peculiar cosmic fluid with healing qualities.
Notwithstanding Mesmer`s superb intuitive proficiency at clinical psychology, he had no lucid awareness of the psychological nature of his therapy. Even so, he healed countless patients successfully on whom long-established medical procedures had failed. However, his radical nature and mystical attributes of his therapy brought him inordinately to disrespect despite the fact that various physicians often visited his clinic in the course of the peak of his achievement to study the important lessons in the strange art of psychotherapy, in particular, the magnitude of clinical psychology.
Since Mesmer there has been a succession of marvelous men who got interested in hypnosis and utilized it effectively in medical procedures, entrusting it an gradually more scientific authority and legality. Elliotson, the first man in England to apply the stethoscope, became interested in hypnosis about 1817, employed it thoroughly, and left excellent records of its beneficial utilization in concrete cases. Esdaille, moved by Elliotson`s case reports, became an dedicated advocate of mesmerism, as it was then called,
and actually succeeded in interesting the British government in building a hospital in
India, where he used it extensively on all sorts of medical patients, leaving loads of tremendous evidence of major and minor surgery done under hypnotic anesthesia.
The commencement of a psychological apprehension of the phenomenon began in 1841 with James Braid, initially an opponent and then thereafter a most enthusiastic investigator and supporter. It was he who conceived the phrase hypnosis, researched the psychological constitution of hypnotic sleep, and distinguished a lot of its manifestations, brainstorming methods whereby to check their force.
Successful Marketers Embrace The Article Directory
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
People in the internet marketing community have discovered a new form of marketing web pages and exchanging links, and this method is quickly gaining a large head of steam. The basic system works like this: a person will write a page of content, and then allow a foreign website to publish that content in exchange for a link in a resource box on the page. This idea appeals to both parties for several reasons, which I’ll outline.
Article Directories follow the metaphysical law of Reciprocation. What this means in Layman’s Terms is: you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours. Both parties get something out of the arrangement, and all is good. If you contrast this particular method of marketing to the more odious method of “scraping content”, and you’ll quickly see why article directories are considered to be the wave of the future when it comes to interactive and co-operative marketing. Article directories allow for participation by:
1)webmasters who want to use the articles
2)The Webmaster who wrote the article and who receives promotional credit for publishing it
3)The end user who gets high quality content that may not have been available otherwise.
If you haven’t already begun article creation, you better get started soon. Right now, the article directory industry is exploding. What better way to promote your website than to write expert articles that make you and your subject matter stand out from the crowd? If you’re an excellent writer, you can greatly expand the audience of your website by expanding your reach on the internet. Once you’re published on a multitude of websites, you can expect a great deal of direct traffic as well as search engine juice from your many installed articles. If you think about 10 articles that are on over 100 sites, you can quickly see that’s 1,000 pages that now link to you with information about you and your website. Done consistently, for months on end, there is no better way of increasing your exposure than authoring and submitting articles on your favorite subjects. If you’re not already an expert on a subject, then what better time to start than now?
You are best off writing individual articles for the web directories that do not appear on your own website. Otherwise, you may run into the very real risk of the article directory outranking you for your very own content! Generally article directories are very popular website with a great deal of traffic and link popularity, so they often will rank for your article. If you use original content, you can expect additional traffic, that doesn’t interfere with your websites traffic at all. Submitting content to article directories is not a miracle cure for all of your ranking blues, but it’s a great start for a deserving website on the road to recognition. Only by getting the word out, can you expect others to be able to find the wonderful resource that is your website.

TIVO Or Not TIVO?
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
The TIVO is dead. At times like this I’m grateful I always wear black because I’m properly dressed for this sad occasion. What? It’s not dead? My husband just said something about needing a router.
I have no idea what a router is. I was born blond. On top of that, I was born electronically challenged. When I was a child, I starred at the telephone wires by our house waiting to see lumps go through them. Having seen advertisements for sending FTD flowers by wire, I was waiting to see the flowers go through the wires.
When the waiting for our TIVO is over and it rises from the dead, I’ll be able to see whatever I like whenever I like. What I like to see most are news and sports – live TV – programs without reruns or laugh tracks.
Laugh tracks, however, would be very helpful in everyday life. For example, it would be very helpful if I could say something like, “A funny thing happened on the way to the supermarket” when I tell my husband about his car. Then I could quickly press a little, red button on my handy-dandy, portable, laugh machine to keep my punch line from hitting John as hard as his car had been hit when I’d turned into the supermarket parking lot this morning.
There’s hit and then there’s hit. What’s a hit one season is cloned next season. We already have “CSI New York” and “CSI Miami”. Soon we’ll have “CSI Your Town”. Because of their success, soap operas like “General Hospital” and “Days of Our Lives” will go on forever. Unfortunately, reality shows and talk shows are cheaper to make; and they’ll go on too long. In fact, I expect Burt Reynolds to get his own talk show any day.
Then there are the commercials that are better than some of the shows they interrupt. Eight minutes of every thirty-minute show is for commercials – opportunities for businesses to reach out and touch someone like me.
Two nights ago I dreamed a ghost reached out of my nightmare and touched me. When I tried to talk to this unappreciated apparition, it wouldn’t listen. Obviously, it was a message from my subconscious. “You can tell a vision, but you can’t tell it much”. Oh well, until we get a router so we get TIVO again, maybe my family will listen to me.
